Mac OS X 10.6 to include geolocation and multi-touch support
According to AppleInsider, the next version of the Mac OS X called Snow Leopard will include two important features that come from the iPhone: the geolocation and multi-touch.
The revelation apparently came from some developers that tested the last beta versions of Snow Leopart, and that declared that the CoreLocation and CocoaTouch softwares are now included. The location features should work like the first iPhone models and iPod Touch (that do not feature a GPS), using the wi-fi network to triangulate the system’s location.
The multi-touch feature, avaliable recently on the latest MacBook models but only on certain applications, should now be available for all the computer lines and every application. It’s interesting to notice how the geolocation feature has emerged at the same time as Google announced their new service, Latitude.
