More details about the new MacBook Pro

Apple presented the new MacBook Pro models yesterday. The laptops hadn’t been through an update since last June. All the models now have 4 GB RAM and core frequencies that go from 2.4 GHz to 2.66 Ghz, and except for the 13″ entry-level model, the new MacBook Pros allow the user to choose from different display types on the BTO option.

It’s possible to choose from several display types: for the MacBook Pro 15″ there are the Glossy Widescreen Display, Hi-Res Glossy Widescreen Display and Hi-Res Antiglare Widescreen display options; for the 17″ MacBook Pro, there’s one less option, leaving only the Hi-Res Antiglare Widescreen Display and the standard display.

The 13″ models still feature Core 2 Duo, while the 15″ and 17″ models have now the Core i5 and Core i7 processors. The most powerful of the models (15″ and 17″) will feature the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with Optimus technology. The smaller one (13″) features nVIDIA GeForce 320M.

The battery is one of the strong points on the new models: 10 hours lifetime for the 13″ model, and 8 to 9 hours for the others. The prices start from €1140 for the 13″ model, up to €2249 for the 17″.
