The new iPod Shuffle launched today

After a downtime period, the Apple Store online brought a new iPod Shuffle, completely redesigned and with new features. The smallest iPod now measures 4.5 x 1.7 x 7 mm - around half the size of the previous model, which is still available - and it presents itself as small aluminium cylinder with a clip that allows the player to be attached anywhere.

There are no multimedia buttons on the player, only the on/off switch and the shuffle mode button: the multimedia functions are now done through the buttons placed on the headphone wire. The battery, according to Apple’s official data, should guarantee 10 hours of music playing.

But perhaps the most interesting news is about the VoiceOver feature: pressing a button, a voice can indicate the song, the artist’s name and the playlist’s name, in 14 different languages. The new iPod Shuffle has 4GB of storage capability and is found at the Apple Store for €75.
