• iPhone OS 4.0: keynote streaming and more new features

    So last evening’s event was indeed about the iPhone OS 4.0 During the keynote, Steve Jobs has said that the amount of new features was too big to be mentioned in detail, and hence why the presentation was focused in seven main enhancements only. We’ll bring the other interesting new features on the new iPhone OS 4.0, together with a link to the entire streaming, which can be found here.

    Here’s the list of more interesting features that weren’t mentioned during last evening’s event:

    - Playlist Creation: from now on, like on the iPad, it’ll be possible to create playlists directly from the iPod app;
    - Creating events in Mail: thanks to the automatic date recognition, it’s possible to create an event directly from Mail;
    - Gift Applications: now also available on the Apple mobile devices:
    - Braille support: a new feature that allows the user to connect a third-party device for Braille reading
    - Customizable fonts: It’ll be possible to alter the size of fonts on the email, SMS and local and Push notices;
    - Folders in Dock: the app collection folders can be dragged to the new Dock, making it similar to the Stacks from Snow Leopard;
    - Folders: inside each Folder, users will be able to reorganize the icons as they wish
    - Live suggestions in Safari: while making a research, Safari will now offer some suggestions like in the Desktop version
    - Emails organized by Thread: Steve Jobs mentioned when talking about the unified inbox on Mail, in fact.
