Review - iPhone 3G - Part 15
Most widgets present on the main screen require an Internet connection in order to be used, so it’s wise to have a phone plan that suits the iPhone requirements. But what about the data transfer through the mobile phone networks? Many users have asked this question in order to know whether the plan offered to them would be enough, especially because a lot of phone companies limit the data transfer to a dozen MB a day, or a few hundred MB a month.
We’ve tested the 3G connection with a simple browsing section, carefully resetting the counters, of course. Then, we opened the meteo widget, followed by the stock market widged, and then browsed a few pages on Safari. Following those, the Youtube widget, viewing three videos with different lengths. In fact, that was a difference noted with the videos viewed with the phone connection, the quality is different from those viewed from a wi-fi connection. Using the 3G connections, the videos are loaded a lot faster, but with much less quality.
