Google will bring voice search to iPhone
The new version of Google’s application for iPhone will allow users to perform searches through voice recognition, at least according to an article published on NY Times, in which they also predict the type of questions that the iPhone users might want to ask: “Where’s the nearest Starbucks?” or “How tall is Mount Everest?”.
The vocal sound is converted into a digital version and sent to Google’s servers, which will try to understand the main keywords that will then be used as search words. According to John Markoff, the application will be able to give back the results in a matter of seconds (using a wi-fi connecton) and it will also take advantage of the iPhone features that let it determine the user’s location.
The updated application should be available as a free update from today on.
