AirPlay was also introduced, which allows users to share pictures, video and songs through Wi-Fi. It will be possible, for example, to listen to songs that aren’t physically present on the device, but on network systems.
The iPad will also now have the possibility of storing the applications in folders and the multitasking will be finally introduced. The update will be free for the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad platforms.

Steve Jobs and Apple have presented a series of new features and products during yesterday’s event. One of them i the new iOS 4.1, the new version of Apple’s mobile OS. This new version includes a long list of bug fixes, promising a more stable OS with some new features.
The first new feature would be the High Dynamic Range photos feature, that allows the device to overlap three different pictures, taken with different lighting. The software then adds those images, selecting the best lighting level for each one of the picture’s zones, so no area is too dark or too light.
The other new feature is Game Center, that allows users to play multiplayer games. Game Center automatically chooses the players in order to associate them with the same level.
Other new features include HD video upload through Wi-Fi, and the download of TV shows directly on the mobile device.

The white version of the iPhone 4 are currently being manufactured according to a Chinese source. One of the employees working on the manufacturing line has confirmed having seen the first models.
Apple has postponed the released of the white model many times, apparently for technical issues that appeared during the assembling line. The official date still remains sometime next year, so we will have to wait and see.

The article is labeled as a rumor, so it should be treated as such. The guys from iLounge have received rumors of a bunch of new products on Apple’s 2010/2011 product lineup, using the new iOS 4 software. According to the rumors, these products should be launched by Spring 2011:
- New iPods: apparently these new iPods would be launched by the end of September. One iPod nano, a new iPod Touch and a third device that is still unknown. This mysterious iPod could use the small 1.7″ touchscreen display that Apple has been manufacturing since 2009;
- New iPads: according to the rumors, a new 7″ iPad is practically finished and should be announced by the end of the year or beginning of 2011. Another rumor concerns a 5.6″ version but no details just yet.
- iPhone 5 without antenna problems: This rumor seems more impossible than the others, simply because it would be hard for Apple to project and manufacture a completely new hardware design for the iPhone that doesn’t have antenna issues, unless the whole process has been started already, or requires small changes to the hardware.
- New iPhone 4 bumpers: A new series of bumpers should be launched soon, according to those rumors. The first original ones had a harder plastic material than the current ones being sold, and since the bumpers are given for free to iPhone 4 users until September, Apple’s manufacturing cheaper models to be distributed after September.

Apple has just released the beta 3 version of their iOS 4.1 to developers. The build is the 8B5097d, and has 599 Mb in its iPhone 4 version (only 383 Mb for the iPhone 3GS).
The new version comes together with a new SDK version as well. So far the changes seem very few compared to the Beta 2, and it’s still not sure whether the proximity sensor bug has been fixed or not.

Apple had officially admitted problems in the manufacturing of the white iPhone 4, saying that they would be available in the second half of July.
After some rumors that claimed that the problems were related to the coloring of the cases, Apple had to release another official statement to declare that the white iPhone 4 will suffer another delay, without specifying when they’ll be available. We’ll have to wait and see.

After the polemics about the antenna problems on the iPhone 4, Apple had to resort to a quick solution by giving users free bumpers and refunded thsoe who had already bought one. And it seems the first users started being refunded now. Some users from Loop and Macworld have confirmed receiving the refund together with a note that says:
“Apple recently announced that iPhone 4 customers who purchased an iPhone 4 Bumper are eligible for a full refund. As of today, we have automatically processed your refund. You have also been refunded for any Shipping or VAT charges which may have been applied to your order”.
No estimates, however, on the number of users that got the refund, or the time that Apple will take to process the requests.

Apple has scheduled an unexpected press-conference for tomorrow, July 16th, to talk about the iPhone 4, without specifying the topics to be talked about.
It’s easy to think that the topics will be about the problems found with the iPhone 4, such as the antenna signal issues, for example. From the first test sessions done with the new iOS 4.1, the antenna issues haven’t been solved on the software.
Apple could, thus, be preparing a RMA campaign for the first iPhone 4 sold, replacing them with more recent models, which seems to have solved the problems for some clients that returned their iPhone 4 and replaced them with new models.
The press-conference could also announce the launch date for other countries. We’ll have to wait and see.

Thanks to the guys from TechRestore, we can present you with a video that shows the disassembling process on the iPhone 4, showing details like the antenna and the many internal electronic components.
The video was done using the stop motion technique, which means putting images in sequence to simulate movement. The stop motion now requires 24 pictures/second, and in this video it allows us to see each piece that is part of the iPhone 4 and the correct disassembling technique.
Enjoy!

First, some users complained about yellow stains on the Retina Display on their new iPhone 4. Then, many users detected a poor reception on their iPhone 4 when the device is held in hand, and the latest bug reported was with the photocamera.
According to a topic on the Apple forum, a group of users is complaining about the photocamera not working properly. According to them, the phone hangs upon opening the photocamera application or any app connected to it, and only the shot animation is seen. No other buttons seem to work. Rebooting and restoring the phone, as it was advised on the forum, doesn’t seem to bring any enhancement in most of the cases.
The video below shows the bug in question. Before thinking of replacing your iPhone 4, it’s better to wait for Apple’s official response.
