According to many rumors that are circling around the net, it seems that Apple would be planning an event for the next March 24th in order to present the new desktop product line.
iMac, Mac Pro and Mac Mini would be updated, although no specifics are available yet. One of the “predictions” is that nVidia will become the official graphic chip for all Apple’s desktop solutions. For now, there are no further information, except the mysterious “surprise” that apparently Apple will bring with the update of their desktop line.
Of course, we will be tuned to get any more confirmations on the matter!

According to an article published on Apple Insider, Apple would have already asked for developers’ help in testing the Mac OS X 10.5.7. There should be a very big update to correct many bugs, with a particular focus on the synchronization.
The update is currently 440MB big and it would bring many enhances and bug fixes that comprise many system features and services. However, Apple would be focusing their efforts on some synchronization issues on several services on Leopard, such as Mail, Phonebook, Addresses and System Preferences. Safari is also getting a lot of attention, especially about a problem that prevents the browser from accepting some cookies.
The update will also bring an update to the graphic drivers, Time Machine, printing services, display sharing, synchronization with Mobile Me and also Airport and iCal. The current launch date of the OS X 10.5.7 isn’t yet known, but it should be around in a few months in any case. The last Leopard update was done on December 15th, 2008.

The iMacs are surely great candidates for a possible future update from Apple. One of the most expected changes, besides the design (although rumors say only a few adjustments will be made), is the graphic technology that will equip the next line of “all-in-one” computers from Apple.
In fact, many rumors have claimed that nVidia will be Apple’s first choice: in fact, nVidia might end up establishing itself as the only supplier for all Apple’s computers. MacRumors has posted an image that is apparently taken from promotional material about the iMacs that would confirm “high-performance NVIDIA graphics”. Besides, rumors also claim that the stock for the current models are almost empty, hence the launch of a new line would be happening soon.
Of course, we’re treating the news as a rumor until we get official confirmation.

Apple has released a new web advertisement spot for the new MacBook Pro 17″ unibody. The campaign’s motto is, obviously, the ecology.
The ad is currently present on the ArsTechnica’s home page, but it seems that it was also seen on the New York Times, and it describes all the technological features on the new Apple’s notebook, such as the battery duration and lifespan, concluding the ad with the motto: “The greenest family of notebooks”.
Here’s the ad. Enjoy!

We published an article a few days ago showing an image that is causing a lot of mayhem online, since the original owner of the image claims that it is the new Mac Mini version, but there’s more than one doubt about the picture’s authenticity.
And, in order to back up his claims, the same owner has now published a small video. The story is still shady and we’re still filing it under a rumor (also because Apple is very careful when it comes to information leaking), but here’s the video. Now it’s up to you guys to decide: Rumor or not?

MacRumors has published the image above, apparently leaked from one of their forum discussion threads, that would belong to the next Mac Mini. The original leaker also posted a few of the “presumed” technical specifications:
- Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz
- 3MB L2 cache
- 2GB RAM DDR III, 1066MHz
- Super Drive SATAThe official launch predictions say that the new Mac Mini would be launched around mid March, maybe together with the new iMac. The presumed “leaked” picture is a little suspicious, would Apple really refuse to change the design of the Mac Mini after such a long time without any aesthetical changes?
And what about the wood table? Anyway, we’re reporting it as a rumor. We’ll leave it up to you readers to decide whether this is a fake or not.

Apple has released a new advertisement for the iPod Touch, in which several games such as Bugdom 2 or Rolando are shown, focusing on the gaming platform that the iPod touch can become.
The motto is the same as before: “The Funnest iPod Ever”. The song in the background is “No You Girls”, taken from Franz Ferdinand’s latest album: “Tonight - Franz Ferdinand”.

Rumors and more rumors roam around the net about the possibility of a new iPhone model. Now, to add to the list of rumors, it seems that Apple would have ordered a good number of Flash Memories in order to either update the current iPhone 3G or to start the manufacturing of the iPhone nano, at least according to speculations made by ThinkEquity’s Analyst, Vijay Rakesh.
“Our checks indicate that Apple has started ordering for its iPhone refresh (iPhone and iPhone Nano), stifling the supply chain,” says Rakesh to the clients through a note.
It seems that manufacturers such as Samsung, Hynix and Toshiba, which are currently facing trouble with manufacturing, are forced to face the huge pressure posed by Apple on the whole sector. Analysts also predict a rise in price for flash memories, if the availability of those will keep on being scarse due to Apple’s demands.

Some American sites that cover rumors and anticipations have published a series of images of what seems to be a new case for the iPhone.
Besides the opaque black color instead of glossy, there is a code in the case, A1303 that doesn’t correspond to any of the iPhone models currently in the market. So the rumors are now claiming that the case belongs to the next iPhone model.
Obviously, the images can also be the result of someone with too much time on their hands and photoshopping skills, so we’ll be waiting for official confirmation on the matter.

It’s true that Apple is always focused on stability and performances of their new softwares, but that doesn’t mean that in the Snow Leopard’s beta users won’t find a few new features that will certainly make fans happy.
In its last build (10A261), the Finder has acquired two new functions: Put Back and Stacks Folder Navigation.
Put Back will allow users to restore files and folders on the trashcan back to their original position with one simple click. This feature was present up to the OS 9, but then it mysteriously vanished on the OS X.
Stacks Folder Navigation will allow users to navigate inside folders without leaving Stacks. In Leopard, when you click a folder in Stacks, and it is simply opened, in Snow Leopard, instead, the same action will minimize the parent directory and show the clicked folder, always within Stacks.
